 Licensing Makem Music

All recordings of copyrighted material owned, in whole or in part by Tommy Makem are required to have a license.

Before you call a licensing agency, you will need to know the title of the song and what company owns the song. It may be found on the album where the song is. It may be Tiparm Music; Keady Music; or Tinwhistle Music, BMI.

Next, depending on the territory for which the license is intended, you will need to contact one of the following:

In the USA:

NMPA/Harry Fox Agency
711 Third Avenue
New York, NY 10017
Tel: 212-370-5330, Fax: 212-953-2384
Contact the Client Services Department at clientservice@harryfox.com
The Harry Fox website is http://nmpa.org/hfa.html

In Europe:

BUCKS-Music Ltd.
Onward House, 11 Uxbridge Street
London W87TQ
Fax: 011 44 171 229 68 93

You will be issued an application for a license. After the application is processed by the licensing agency, it is reviewed and the license is either granted or declined.

The cost of a license is dependant on a number of factors that are outlined in the application, which include but are not limited to number of units to be pressed, distribution and number of Makem songs on the product.
